Others

Harness comfort components, single tank adapters, and miscellaneous BCD accessories that do not fit within the other sub-categories. This includes shoulder padding, crotch straps, inflator covers, tank stabilisers, and single tank adapters — components that either improve wearer comfort or adapt the BP/W system for different cylinder configurations.

Components

The Neoprene shoulders pads (240337) and Shoulder covers (240335) address the primary comfort complaint with bare-webbing BP/W harnesses: shoulder strap pressure during long dives and surface swims. Neoprene pads add a compressible layer between webbing and wetsuit; shoulder covers are a fabric sleeve over the webbing that reduces friction against the neck and wetsuit collar. The Back polstering (134.97) is a padded back cushion that mounts behind the backplate — for divers who find direct backplate contact on a thin wetsuit uncomfortable, particularly during boat rides. The Crotch strap (240300/10) is the strap that runs between the diver’s legs connecting the front and back of the waist webbing — it prevents the harness from riding up on the torso during descents and is standard equipment on all properly configured BP/W systems. Available in standard and extended lengths. The Inflator cover (240320/4) is a neoprene sleeve that fits over the inflator assembly — it protects the LP inlet against cold water and prevents the button from accidentally engaging when the diver’s hand rests on the inflation hose. Single tank adapters — Soft single tank adapter for hard plate (901410), Soft single tank adapter for soft plate (901411), Soft single tank adapter for ultralight plate (901412) — are foam or neoprene inserts that adapt a doubles-geometry backplate for single-cylinder use by filling the gap between the plate and the narrower single cylinder. The correct variant depends on whether the backplate has a rigid plate, soft plate, or ultralight plate as the tank contact surface. The Silicone hose (901050) is a flexible replacement hose for inflator connections requiring a non-standard routing. The Tank stabilizer (901408) prevents the cylinder from rotating against the backplate during the dive — a short neoprene or plastic clip that wedges against the cylinder shoulder below the cam band.

What to Look For

  • Crotch strap is not optional — a BP/W harness without a crotch strap will ride up on descent as pressure pushes the backplate upward. If your harness does not include a crotch strap, add one before diving.
  • Single tank adapter matching — the three soft STA variants (hard/soft/ultralight plate) differ in their contact geometry and thickness. Using the wrong variant results in a loose fit that allows the cylinder to shift on the backplate. Match the adapter to your specific plate type.
  • Shoulder padding for drysuit use — shoulder pads add bulk at the shoulder strap. In a drysuit with a thick undersuit, this additional bulk may reduce neck mobility. Test the fit before a full dive to verify the padding does not restrict head rotation.
